Miracles Unfolding

The best of the best often happens in an organic fashion.  A small seed germinates in a big sea of soil.  Microorganisms work steadily around it digesting respirating metabolizing and soon the seed has what is needed to become a samaan tree.  Earthworms crawl through minute roots not giving the time of day to the little seed.  And the little seed keeps going, purposefully, authentically, doing what has to be done.

A blue tarantula passes by and steps delicately on the sprout ... but not to fear ... the sprout continues to thrive.  And before the passing of time is even noticed we have in our midst a large tree with a complex ecosystem in its branches and its leaves.  

Whenever there is an organic unfolding of an organism, a group or any other structure there is also a gradual development of a complex community to support its growth and advancement.

And that is my way to introduce Trinidad Organic Farmers - a Participatory Guarantee System for the organic farming community.  TOF has unfolded incrementally from a group of independent small organic farmers who were bringing their small amounts of produce to Sun Eaters Organics - an organic shop in Trinidad.  After 2 years this is a great time for these farmers to organize themselves into a loosely affiliated grower group which will set its own organic standards, be self-regulatory, and will be able to market and process together.  How exciting can it get?
